Man Utd launch bold £77.5m bid for Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni
11 July, 2025

Manchester United have reportedly submitted a massive £77.5 million offer for Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, as the Red Devils aim to land a marquee signing to boost their squad this summer.

United find themselves at a crossroads during this transfer window. The club must decide whether to spread their budget across several positions or concentrate on two or three elite-level players who can transform the team’s fortunes under Ruben Amorim.

So far, their business has been modest, with the arrival of Matheus Cunha seen as a smart move — a player who offers quality and long-term upside without breaking the bank. Beyond that, United have yet to make significant moves, possibly waiting to offload fringe players before committing to big-money signings.

Now, according to Defensa Central, United are ready to "go all out" to sign Tchouameni and have tabled a £77.5m bid in hopes of luring him away from the Bernabéu.

Tchouameni, signed by Real Madrid in 2022, has grown into a key figure for the Spanish champions. The French international is known for his composure, tactical intelligence, and versatility — capable of playing as a holding midfielder or stepping into central defence when needed.

Is Tchouameni to United realistic?

While United’s interest is understandable, the prospect of Tchouameni swapping Madrid for Manchester appears unlikely. The 24-year-old is part of a winning project in Spain, regularly competing for major titles, while United are still rebuilding and have just finished a challenging season.

Despite being less flashy than others in his position, Tchouameni’s consistency and defensive awareness make him invaluable — attributes that would undeniably strengthen United’s midfield.

However, unless Madrid are unexpectedly open to selling or Tchouameni pushes for a move — neither of which seem likely — this rumour feels more hopeful than realistic. As things stand, the Frenchman appears fully committed to Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

The next few weeks will reveal whether United’s offer gains traction, or if this is just another speculative link during a frantic transfer window.
