Premier League legend Alan Shearer has backed Arsenal to beat Manchester United when the two sides meet at Old Trafford on Sunday.
After Arsenal’s dominant 7-1 Champions League win over PSV, while United struggled to a 1-1 Europa League draw with Real Sociedad, Shearer believes the Gunners will secure an away victory. “Because Arsenal had it so easy the other night, and Man United didn’t while having their struggles, I’m going for an Arsenal win,” he told Metro.
Odegaard Confident Ahead of Old Trafford Test
Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard echoed Shearer’s confidence, acknowledging United’s quality but insisting his team isn’t afraid to take the game to them.
"It's always tough when we play them. They have a lot of individual quality, and when they click as a team, they can be dangerous," he said. "But we’re Arsenal—we go there to win, and we’re not scared to do it."
With Arsenal still chasing the Premier League title, Ødegaard emphasized the need to focus on their own performances. “We've been in the title race for three years, and in football, anything is possible. We just have to keep working hard, win our games, and see what happens.”
As both teams prepare for a crucial clash, Arsenal’s confidence is high, while United will be desperate to prove their doubters wrong.
